The Council of State judged that the decision of the Ministry of Culture in 2006 not to declare as preservable monuments the buildings of the Columbia record company in Perissos should be cancelled because is not adequatly justified.
The Central Council for Modern Monuments and the proposals of the competent authorities did not examine if the buildings, as an entity, should be characterized as a historical place, since songs were recorded there as early as 1931, but they only assessed their architectural value.
We remind to you that only one building and the gate of Columbia were declared as preservable. Unfortunately the rest of the buildings were demolished. The appeal to the Council of State was filed by music composers, architects and residents of Attica.
