Dear Members and Dear Friends,
We are pleased to inform you that, after a period of hiatus, we commence once again the publication of the online journal ΜOnuMENTA.
The collaboration of our volunteer and member, Ms Elena Papagiannopoulou, communication specialist, heritage manager and publications editor, helps us to continue this significant activity which was the first of a number of MONUMENTA’s activities. We remind you that, thus far, six issues have been published online and are freely available on our website, including over 200 articles in total. In a few months, our 7th issue entitled “Local Communities and Monuments” will be released, while we are also pleased to announce in advance the topic of our 8th issue that will be dedicated to − and entitled − “Rural Heritage”.
Your collaboration in the publication of this journal is extremely important, especially in submitting articles, sending photographs for our next issue’s cover, and translating article abstracts. If you are interested in any of the above, please contact us at email@example.com Below you will find the Call for Papers for our upcoming issue, “Local Communities and Monuments”:
Call for Papers Issue n. 7: Local Communities and Monuments
The Editorial Board of the online, free access journal MOnuMENTA of the non-profit Society for the protection of natural and architectural heritage in Greece and Cyprus, MONUMENTA, invites authors to submit original articles for publication in our next issue (Issue 7, 2017). Each issue of the journal is dedicated to a specific topic, covering its two indivisible aspects: natural and architectural heritage.
Our next issue will be entitled “Local Communities and Monuments”. Taking into account that the topic accommodates interdisciplinary methodological approaches, the goal of our upcoming issue is twofold: to explore the relations of local communities with monuments over time and raise awareness for the protection and enhancement of the natural and built environment of their area. Through theoretical texts, actions and research work authored by organizations, scientists, and citizens, the upcoming issue will try to put a spotlight on cultural and natural heritage, communicating the dire need for their protection.
Deadline for Article Submissions for our 7th Volume: 20 July, 2017.
The articles submitted for publication should be sent together with a brief CV of the author (max. 100 words) via email at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating in the subject line ‘Submission to MOnuMENTA Journal’. For further information about article submissions and guidelines for authors, please visit our website http://www.monumenta.org/ and/or contact us at email@example.com. The Editorial Board will contact the authors as soon as possible following submission.
Note that each issue can be enriched with additional articles even after its publication. That is why your articles, for both our next and our previous issues, are always welcome. Finally, our online journal welcomes articles on a variety of topics, provided always that they pertain to the natural and architectural heritage, which are published in our “Various Topics” section.
