In the flora of Greece are included 11 native species of tulip out of the total 15 that characterize the Mediterranean basin. Some of them are endemic and during the spring time are making their presence in many regions. Four of those species embelish the Cretan earth, while other four types sprout in Chios. Certain species are nowadays under the threat of disappearance.
