Late neoclassical three-storey building, designed by the architect Anastasios Metaxas. It was built by the English businessman Charles Merlin during 1893-1895 and houses the French Embassy since 1896. It was bought by the French state, in 1914, and was named Hotel Merlin de Douai in honor of the French revolutionary, ancestor of Charles Merlin. It has been listed.
