Late neoclassical two-storey building with a semi-basement. The original building, Charokopou Residence, was built in 1867-1868, but it was radically rebuilt by the architect Anastasios Metaxas, in 1910, when it was bought by Emmanouil Benakis. The same architect also designed the expansion of the building and its conversion into a museum, in 1929-1931. The building had successive post-war extensions to the north, designed by the architect Emmanuel Vourekas, while in 1997 a new wing, designed by the architect Alexandros Kalligas, was built in the west. The building has been listed.
