Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, designed and constructed by architects Theophil Hansen, Dimitrios Zezos, François Boulanger and Panagiotis Kalkos. The Cathedral is a three-aisled, domed basilica. The construction of the church lasted from 1842 to 1862. The church was damaged by the 1999 earthquake and restoration interventions were completed in 2016.
