The building was built in the beginning of 1900. It was designed by the architect Ernst Ziller with the purpose to shelter the luxurious home of the businessman Ilias Poulopoulos (1850 -1930), who was also the owner of the nearby hat- factory «ΠΙΛ-ΠΟΥΛ» (PIL- POOL) at 66A Iraklidon str. and 19 Thessaloniks str. At the time the house of Ilia Poulopoulos became a touchstone of the Athenian society and every party he hosted was a social event of the era. Since then, the building owners at least three times. In 1994 it was renovated into a luxurious restaurant having the brand name "Το Σπίτι του κύριου Πιλ-Πουλ" (The House of mister Pil-Pool). It operated for some years as a restaurant but later it closed and today it remains that way. The building has been listed.
