"What if buildings could talk?" Maria Callas Museum-MONUMENTA Event

The Maria Callas Museum is participating in this year's celebration of the European Heritage Days, offering reduced general admission to all visitors on Sunday, September 28. Book your ticket here.

In this context, they join forces with the cultural organization "MONUMENTA" and invite you to an open all-day event in the center of Athens entitled "What If Buildings Could Talk? An architectural walk of discoveries and dilemmas for second chances, with second thoughts, in the neighborhood of the Metropolitan Cathedral", honoring this year's theme of the European Heritage Days for our Architectural Heritage.

On Sunday, September 28, starting from the Museum building, we will walk together a short but special route with stops at buildings-stations, observing the common European architectural styles of the buildings and discovering easy and difficult local stories.Upon completion of our tour, we will gather again at the MMK to attempt a small participatory workshop. With the help and valuable guidance of scientists and professionals in the field, we will reflect on the present and future of these emblematic buildings, on their abandonment or reuse, an issue that currently concerns all major urban centers in Europe.

The day will close with the joint presentation of the results of this all-day fermentation, full of reflections, but also with hope for common dreams and actions for our city!
